December 4, 2015 – Big Sur Area, California – Rugged rocky coast south of Monterey. After a morning of being right at the water’s edge and seeing lots of butterflies I headed south to see rugged cliffs and shores.
I drove down Highway 1 from Monterey as far south as Big Sur Station, then headed back at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The Santa Lucia Mountains rise abruptly from the ocean, and the road clings to cliffs with churning water pressing up against their base. The Bixby Creek Bridge is probably familiar to you from some movie or another.
At the end of the day I found a pizza place in Prundale, and back to the trailer with some left overs.
