I was hoping that you have had a comment on any Monarch Butterflies you may had seen in this area or others. Yes, those Monarchs are rare in Newfoundland, seeing that it is so distant from their roosting grounds in Mexico. What a trip that is.
Prior to my visit to Monterey California, I wasn’t really sure what butterfly I might have been looking at. Monterey was almost at the end of my adventure. Looking back, I don’t recall noticing Monarchs when I was elsewhere, but that was as much just seeing “butterflies” rather than specific kinds. I did see and try to photograph some other species here and there, but none of these were close.
